Good grief. In the light of 's comments on , decided to do a piece on the . They had a man and woman on to argue about it.

It came out, live on air, that he was being paid and she wasn't. Sky apologised and offered her £75, the standard fee for such an appearance. Then they offered to increase it to £200, the same as they'd paid him.

@RPBook Direct quote: “You can’t write this stuff.”

@RPBook I absolutely love her infectious joyous energy saying 'are you getting paid for this?', because really, that's a lethal blow, AND by its content AND by the way it is being delivered. Had she said it angrily, we would have seen an entirely different media response ("typical angry black woman with lesbian tendencies, proves our point etc... deflect & redirect).

@sheislaurence I hadn't thought of that, but you're right.

@the5thColumnist it was certainly ironic, but I doubt that the irony was deliberate.

@MichaelPorter thank you. I've edited my toot to add that link.

@RPBook @MichaelPorter Sky there, quickly running out of feet to shoot themselves in.

@RPBook @MichaelPorter That is, at the same time, the stupidest and the funniest story about #skynews ever. I mean, WTAF were they thinking?!

@bytebro @RPBook Probably “they won’t talk about reimbursement, we’re safe”

@MichaelPorter @bytebro I suspect they didn't think, to be honest.

@RPBook @MichaelPorter thank you for sharing this! seems like we should know the names Moya Lothian-McLean and Emma Dabiri! They’re both so eloquent and insightful which is such a contrast to the bumbling right wing grifter guy on the show.
