Narrow escape—looks like autocorrect silently changed the word “tenets” in one of my sentences. Glad I spotted that. “Religious tenants” sound like the plaintiff in a new, controversial Supreme Court case. #AmWriting #histodons #autocorrectfail
@coastalhistory I pictured people living in a church to avoid persecution.
@sbourne Clearly autocorrect has great plans for me. When I write that whole alternative chapter it had in mind, I guess I’ll have to cite it (them?)
@coastalhistory — sometimes unexpected word play sparks the imagination in interesting ways.
@katrintheresa Now imagining a Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy - style artificial intelligence who only masquerades as an autocorrect, trying to elicit better ideas from benighted human writers
@coastalhistory Possibly! When I was on Twitter, I followed the poet, Ilya Kaminsky. He once tweeted something an author said about typos & creativity. I wish I would have saved the tweet— it was perfect.
