@jmadelman @AHAHistorians @histodons Based on your post, I have been asking students at the high school where I teach what is on their reading list for the summer. I have been impressed with the variety of responses.
Before the pandemic, it seemed many colleges had books they asked first year students to read before they arrived on campus. Is that still the case?
@Histfar @AHAHistorians @histodons Glad to hear it’s prompted good discussions. I can’t speak for all colleges — mine ended its common reading program about six or seven years ago. People just seemed to run out of energy to organize it.
