Yesterday, 3rd December was the International Day of People with Disability. In 2017, Post issued a (Postal Numismatic Collectable) - an envelope with stamp and coin - to commemorate the occasion. It is a simple, but elegant design. My only real complaint (Which the collectors will concur with), is that it doesn't have a stamp, but instead has "Postage Paid Australia".

Happy Feast Day of St Eligius! Also known as St Eloi, he is the patron saint of numismatists & coin collectors! (& goldsmiths, hardware storekeepers, horses, farmers, carriers, mechanics & garage keepers). I have updated my page on him a bit since last St Eligius day: coinofnote.com/saint-eligius/

Including with this medallion of his patronage of metal workers: coinofnote.com/st-eloi-patron-

It would have been my sister's birthday today. She passed a few years ago, but loved , so I chose this piece thinking of her. The text is a from American Theologian Reinhold , known for writing the Prayer. Google tells me this quote is either part of a longer version of that , or a sermon given with it, but I can't find a concrete reference. Can anyone help please?

It's a bit late for but here is a beautiful pair of medallion from Post. The top one is the regular issue Battle of Normandy cover (with 2024 made). The bottom one is the limited edition version, with foil printing, larger stamp block, gold coloured medallion and limited to only 250. I think this pair look great together. What do you think?

For the many people asking (ok, no-one asked, I just noticed) - the "Random" page link on my site got broken. The good news is, it's fixed!

Have a go and let me know where you end up: coinofnote.com/?redirect_to=ra

(Just to clarify, it will be a post on the site! With nearly 230 posts, there's a selection to go to).

Here were the first four I just ended up at:

Roman Tetradrachm
Saint Anthony Medal
UK Peace £2
Chinese Cash coin

Have you ever been really disappointed by a new ? I love "Mars from Phobos" - the visuals are believable & it tells an amazing story. (Artists concept here: sci.news/space/powerful-solar- )

The Saturn from Titan coin however, just isn't realistic to me. The colours are way off from any artists concepts I can find & there's no key point to grab you like the astronaut does on the Mars coin - a probe or lander would have been great

A forgotten leftover of a brief spell of US colonialism, uncovered while decluttering my home office of decades. This bit of Filipino history is likely from my late father’s travels during the years he was a businessman focused on Pacific Rim countries. A ‘five centavo’ coin, unique because of its history, and the use of both Spanish (Centavo) and English on the coin, and the short period of time this kind of currency was actually in circulation on the Islands. I think it is a cool thing, so I thought I’d share. Who knows what we may find next 😎 (I should explain that my father had me at 65, which explains how he could have been traveling Australasia in 1945.) #Filipino #philippines #coins #Filipinas #Numismatics #Colonialism #Colonisation #History #CoolCoin
