Kikoe-ōgimi

J'ai vu passer que le mois de mars sur #wikipédia était dédié à la rédaction d'articles sur les femmes, donc j'ai écrit un article sur Kikoe-ōgimi :
fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kikoe-%C…
C'est pas une femme, c'est vingt-et-une femmes, j'espère du coup avoir atteint le quota parce que c'est beaucoup plus fatigant de trouver des sources sur des personnages historiques que sur des sites archéologiques...

A book called "Tattoo Traditions in Asia" recently came out. 1 of the topics is the hajichi of the Ryukyu Islands. The author seems to have only spoken with a tattoo artist who's also not Ryukyuan. Discussing an Indigenous tattoo practice without involving any Indigenous people is bullshit.

trying to buckle up an article about kikoe-oogimi (chifi-ufujin-ganashi) for #wikipédia since march is dedicated to articles about women (chifi-ufujin is not one woman, they are 21 women so i should reach the quota and return to my writing about old stones. ungendered old stones) but the japanese article is a mess with no references and the english article does not help. now, i know a lot about chifi-ufujin, but in which of my hundreds of books did i read about her / them ? #okinawa #ryukyu

An agreement between Tokyo and Washington to move 9,000 Marines — almost half the total force — from Okinawa, which is already two decades behind schedule, is colliding with the perceived threat from a rising China. japantimes.co.jp/news/2025/02/ #japan #politics #usjapanrelations #okinawa #defense #china

i'm in #Ōgimi for a study-day about nejame #gusuku, which is probably far more a glorious gusuku that you think.
we'll have a presentation of the site this morning by masahiko goto (of the university of the ryukyus) and we'll go to the field afterwards this afternoon.
not so many archaeologists in the room yet, but it's open to the local inhabitants and they fill the seats 😁
i'll live toot with hashtag #nejame, mute it if you don't like gusukus 😉

i'm in #okinawa city culture centre for the conference about the decorative patterns on ceramic (from prehistory to the modern period).
the hashtag will be #ceram mute it if you're allergic to ceramology.
small room and only archaeologists (and one middle schooler) for now.
