Anthony Floyd<p>This is very disappointing. We don't need bike-protected parking. Parking-protected bike lanes are a much better design. But even better? Fully separated, protected bike lanes. Paint is not infrastructure. <a class="hashtag" href="https://bsky.app/search?q=%23PaintIsNotInfrastructure" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#PaintIsNotInfrastructure</a> <a class="hashtag" href="https://bsky.app/search?q=%23BikeYVR" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#BikeYVR</a><br><br>RE: <a href="https://bsky.app/profile/did:plc:hirrgj3gs4mkftk5oopdeekc/post/3lhwf5fo3rs2t" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">https://bsky.app/profile/did:plc:hirrgj3gs4mkftk5oopdeekc/post/3lhwf5fo3rs2t</a></p>
HUB Vancouver-UBC LC<p>Although we don't know the circumstances of this crash, we do know that <br><a href="https://mstdn.ca/tags/PaintIsNotInfrastructure" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>PaintIsNotInfrastructure</span></a>, and until the city provides safe active transportation infrastructure - particularly in the east and south - people will be injured and killed by motorists. These deaths are preventable. 6/6</p>
Mobility Matters Bham<p>I want to support this pilot project adding a bike lane downtown, but it keeps avoiding opportunities to increase cyclist comfort for all ages &amp; abilities. </p><p>The latest modification forces a crossover with drivers who want to turn right — while others want to park. (Cyclists are coming from an earlier segment of the street that has parking protected bike lane.)</p><p>EDIT TO ADD one possible solution for intersection safety in replies.</p><p><a href="https://subdued.social/tags/BikeTooter" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>BikeTooter</span></a> <a href="https://subdued.social/tags/PaintIsNotInfrastructure" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>PaintIsNotInfrastructure</span></a> <a href="https://subdued.social/tags/BellinghamWA" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>BellinghamWA</span></a></p>
HUB Vancouver-UBC LC<p>Thank goodness the danger cone was placed in front, people on bikes might unknowingly run into the big yellow truck parked in the bike lane. Anthony Floyd<p>I'm so tired. There's a concrete barricade providing protection to people on bikes just ahead of the vehicle's front bumper. In fact, it was very difficult to get in the protected lane because they're so close. And of course, they've stopped to pick up a kid from the adjacent school. Their magic 4-way flashers are keeping everyone safe and them out of trouble, naturally.</p><p>Dangerous, illegal, and selfish.</p><p><a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/bikeyvr" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>bikeyvr</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/PaintIsNotInfrastructure" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>PaintIsNotInfrastructure</span></a></p>

Anthony Floyd<p>Oh look: City of Vancouver has acknowledged that <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/PaintIsNotInfrastructure" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>PaintIsNotInfrastructure</span></a> and put in a temporary 2-way separated bike lane where a motor vehicle lane had been *even though there are painted "bike lanes"* on the road. This has been put in due to a closure of the Seawall MUP; hopefully it become permanent. <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/bikeyvr" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>bikeyvr</span></a></p>
