Faintdreams<p>Long shot but does anyone know information about this dress (see picture)</p><p>TinEye (reverse image search) says that it's a "Black figured silk dress with high neck chemisette of cream lace, early 1890s (silk &amp; lace)" from Bath Fashion Museum, Dated sometime between 1890 - 1895 ( ?? ) but I can't find it in the Museum online catalogue.</p><p>It also does not appear to be part of any public collection at the Louvre Museum in Paris<br> <br><a href="https://dice.camp/tags/Fashion" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Fashion</span></a> <a href="https://dice.camp/tags/FashionHistory" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>FashionHistory</span></a> <a href="https://dice.camp/tags/CostumeHistory" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>CostumeHistory</span></a> <a href="https://dice.camp/tags/HistoricalDress" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>HistoricalDress</span></a></p>
Fred<p>Endlessly delighted by The Book of Clothes of Matthäus Schwarz. I'm especially loving this outfit, where the script above notes that 'the white over-hose could be worn with any hose'. </p><p>btw, the whole book is available to buy, and it's marvellous: <a href="https://www.bloomsbury.com/uk/first-book-of-fashion-9781474249904/" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://www.</span><span class="ellipsis">bloomsbury.com/uk/first-book-o</span><span class="invisible">f-fashion-9781474249904/</span></a></p><p><a href="https://wandering.shop/tags/FashionHistory" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>FashionHistory</span></a> <a href="https://wandering.shop/tags/CostumeHistory" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>CostumeHistory</span></a></p>
Mirijb<p>My kid just scored this Vivienne Westwood Anglomania asymmetrical raw-hemmed half-placket high-low (like a c1810 cutaway) cotton lawn blouse at a vintage shop for an unreal price (yay!) We’ve handwashed it in Soak, another lovely use for clotheslines. Based on label fabric and style’s similarity in deconstructive mode to a cape-backed high-low-sleeve black stretch wool sweater I used to own, I think it’s from the 00s. Anyone recognize? <a href="https://c18.masto.host/tags/fashion" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>fashion</span></a> <a href="https://c18.masto.host/tags/fashionhistory" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>fashionhistory</span></a> <a href="https://c18.masto.host/tags/costumehistory" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>costumehistory</span></a> <a href="https://c18.masto.host/tags/VivienneWestwood" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>VivienneWestwood</span></a></p>
