Flipboard Culture Desk<p>Michael Bay‘s “We Are Storror” begins with a warning on screen: “Don’t attempt anything you see here.” There’s good reason. Saturday night’s audience at SXSW was the first to see the documentary, which follows parkour team Storror, on a big screen and gave it a howling standing ovation. Jenny List<p>I must be one of the few people who train <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/parkour" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>parkour</span></a> whose stride is longer than their plyo.</p><p>Yesterdays <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/SundaySupaXXL" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>SundaySupaXXL</span></a> jam had a plyo about 1.5m that I couldn't quite manage, I was abput 100mm short, but which I could stride no problems because long legs. </p><p>It's a flexibility thing, I can no longer pull my legs up so quickly. No surprises, I was slowest by miles. And I'm still stiff-muscled and achey several days later.</p><p>Amazing fun though. Runs are the side of the sport I have always admired the most.</p><p>Taking up parkour in my mid 50s was one of the best things I have ever done. Every week I can do a bit more, I'll never be elite but I really am getting somewhere with it.</p>

Jenny List<p>I learned a couple of things in my <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/parkour" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>parkour</span></a> training tonight. Taught a better technique for plyometric jumps, increased my distance. Also got a lot closer to a one arm pivoting flip. Not sure I'll crack that one, but I'm better than I was.</p>
