Google Assistant recently turned itself on without my express consent. Previously this was proactively turned off.
Probably from a recent system update.

On my phone it always activates itself in the car, even when I have it specifically turned off—such that it frequently interrupts my audiobooks to say that it didn’t understand my instruction.
And then when I tell it to fuck off, it chides me for my bad language.
A important person in my life never swears at their phone for worry about the robot controlled future.
