In September I was interviewed for an upcoming #TV #documentary about the 1980 #Iranian Embassy siege, and the dramatic #SAS assault that ended it. The programme is due to be streamed in December on Paramount+.
That was my first TV appearance, but over the years, I've been in newspapers, on podcasts, YouTube channels, and radio programmes.
My first appearance was on BBC Radio Stoke, talking to Den Siegertsz about the link between #StokeOnTrent and #Lidice. I was nervous, but Den was lovely and put me right at ease. Unfortunately although the programme is listed on iPlayer, it isn't available to listen. I still have a copy that they gave me at the time, though.

Later in 2016, I was on the WW2 Podcast, again talking about the assassination of Heydrich, Lidice, and the StokeOnTrent miners.

In 2018, I talked to Ian at Cold War Conversations about #WarsawPact #AFVs. That was my first experience of Zoom - in those pre-Covid days, it was a very niche tool that most people hadn't heard of.

A few years later in 2021, I had a wide-ranging talk with Henry Hyde of Battlechat. We discussed my books, #wargaming, #RPGs, and a tank game that I had as a kid in the 1970s.
In the same month I had a much more focused chat with Angus at the WW2 Podcast, when we talked about the Madagascar campaign.

Next up are two appearances on the WW2 TV YouTube channel. The first was about Lidice and the North Staffordshire miners. This was part of a week focusing on atrocities, but this story at least had a relatively happy ending.

My second time on WW2 TV was to discuss Operation Ironclad, the initial part of the Madagascar campaign, where the Allies captured the port of Diego Suarez and the northern part of the island.

In May 2023, I was interviewed by Howard Lovy. The focus for this interview was me as an author, rather than my books.

Then in June 2023, I got angry on the History Rage podcast, where I argued that those who fought in less famous campaigns deserve to be remembered just as much as those that died in famous battles.

Earlier this year I discovered the Totally Tanked podcast. In September Rob and John invited me on to be interviewed for their half-time slot. Naturally, the focus of this one was on tanks and AFVs, although we covered other subjects as well.

Finally, in October I was intereviewed with @gibbondemon for the Co-Authoring Chronicles Podcast. We talked about writing The Bear's Claws, the #ColdWar turned hot novel that we co-wrote some years ago.
