The continuing #enshitification of library resources ... a whole bunch of items are popping up classified as "history of #cartography" that manifestly are NOT. This is from EBSCO's Academic Search Premier.
I think it's because some articles use "map"/"mapping"/"cartography" in a metaphorical manner ... ho hum
Who's doing the classification? Is there increased reliance on computer sorting without a human asking "does this make sense?"
@christinkallama tbh I cannot see how a human reading this title, plus abstract, would consider this essay as a work in “HISTORY of cartography” or also the subject term of “Geophysical surveying…” a couple of lines below. Note that both subject terms are in the style and section of metadata indicating that they were added by EBSCO’s systems (author-supplied keywords are listed separately).
