"Our medium-sized agency staff library ... asked indirectly by GSA to justify keeping any other “media contracts” ... identified by GSA included our OCLC WorldShare and Connexion subscription (clearly not media)"

"Basically, GSA ran a search of contracts with the keyword “subscription” in the description and sent that list to agencies."

"I’m wondering if other federal libraries under the Executive Branch were faced with this same GSA directive to cancel “medial contracts” and how your agency is handling that."

"For example, I read that SEC has already canceled their WestLaw subscription—I wonder what the ramifications of that will be."

"If anyone cares to chat or share their experiences, please reach out."
Let's just say that this librarian is at a technical library.

Most recently, I had to answer a series of 5 questions about the same contracts. The fun question was: “If we replace the third-party solution with an internal solution, how long will it take to stand up a home-grown solution?” So how long would it take to replace the Wiley Medical/Nursing Journal Collection, Clinical Key, Natural Medicines Database, Bates Visual Guide to Physical Examination, etc.????
