What foods did the big NYC department stores advertise for #Passover in the 1920s?
I found this ad by chance today in the 4/18/1929 issue of the NEW YORK JOURNAL. Check out the prices!
By then, some assimilated New York Jews who didn't want neighbors to know they were Jewish started ordering Seder necessities from department stores instead of Jewish-targeted businesses, since a Macy's van parked outside was "neutral."
