New instance, new #Introduction! I’m a historian of #VastEarlyAmerica, finishing a book about #Genealogy as both statecraft and intimate work in 18thc British America. I’ve just marked my one yr anniversary as director & librarian of the great John Carter Brown #Library - where we are doing exciting work that feels important - and prof at Brown U. I blog at my website and post images of historical genealogy on my IG, Vernacular Genealogy. I’m part of an admin team for historians.social.
@kawulf congrats on your anniversary!
@Bryanbanksphd Thank you! It's been great. : ) Miss my colleagues at OI but very happy to be part of the JCB's great team!
@kawulf Happy anniversary at the JCB! And thank you for co-founding historians.social with a detailed code of conduct.
@kawulf
What do y’all do for Black Americans? The history is sparse due to you know what. More DNA history needs to be done for people historically treated like chattel. I can only go back to about 1870, and lots of questions marks remain.
@CeeDub70 On history, inspired and motivated by great Black history and historians! On genealogy, I'm fascinated by and learning a lot from the great work of Af Am genealogical societies and genealogists! Just posted an example this am about the Last Seen project at Villanova.
