"People urged to stand up for Long Covid Awareness Day"

greenocktelegraph.co.uk/news/2

"The people of Inverclyde have been urged to stand up for all those suffering from Long Covid who have been left behind five years on from the pandemic."

People are urged to stand up on March 15 at 2 PM.

"This is not about physically standing up, because some people can't. But it is about taking a stand for those with Long Covid."

Sharing this clever little game from *2008*.

It was the 1st place winner from our very first game design challenge.

We posed this intriguing challenge:
❓ Can you create a game about teen dating violence without using any violence in the game itself?

We really did not know what to expect and were thrilled with the response. Our unique approach to violence prevention received media coverage -- even a mention in #Newsweek!

However, the game was created using #Flash and so it has not been available to play for years.

🎉 It has now been resurrected and we invite you to play it in your browser now - - right now.

It is a very short & quite quirky game (ideal for classroom play).

Plus, it's a helpful way to identify some warning signs of an abusive relationship.

The intention was to increase awareness about teen dating violence and provide guidance on how to seek help if it was needed. We think it works and we hope you agree.

I've been thinking about cultures of silence.

The latest Feminist Lecture Program lecture was about silence around sexual violence towards women in art history and how museums and even art history classes elide references to it even in very violent ("beautiful) paintings and sculpture (think The Rape of Europa, The Rape of the Sabines).

But in connection with this, recently, I've had a couple of friends say the general state of the world is "too horrible to talk about." Besides the fact that our general culture of not confronting feelings and not talking about them is a poison on individuals and society --

It's also exactly what fascist or authoritarian regimes want. All the better if you choose it yourself!

The two cultures of silence have much in common. The less people talk about it the more it can happen.

Let's reject cultures of silence for those subjects that need to be talked about, either for our mental health, public awareness, or as a form of resistance.

The importance of being litigious
Lawsuits matter — even when they might not "win."...
lawdork.com/p/the-importance-o

"Forcing the administration to defend its actions, on the record & in #public, is important.

The mere fact of litigating can change implementation of #policy... Even a loss can advance #awareness...

From a litigation perspective, in other words, not suing is sometimes “obeying in advance.”...

In short: Force them to work for it."

"People only understand the full impact of their gravest mistake once they fully experience its painful aftermath." Futurist Jim Carroll

It seems pretty certain that a lot of folks are quickly coming to discover there are big implications to certain decisions.

I won't belabor the point, since we'll probably spend a good part of the year watching folks in the circumstance that fits the reality to be found in today's quote.

Intrigued with this state of affairs, I decided to go off and explore the science of mistakes. And wouldn't you know it -there is a scientific report about the science of mistakes called, well, The Science of Mistakes.

I dug into the report and a few other sources about the neurological and other basis for mistakes, and discovered some fascinating things.

First and foremost, mistakes that are good for you. But they can also be bad for you. Not only that, some people repeat the same bad mistakes over and over again, never learning from those mistakes until some real damage has been done.

Let's dig in - because these can be valuable innovation & leadership lessons. They might also provide some insight into how we found ourselves in this volatile year.

It's pretty clear to countless people that 2025 is the year of the big mistake.

Carefully study today's post quote.

You'll know what I mean.

This movie will not show you blood and violence, because it's made for a wide target audience, so some brutal scenes are softened; instead it aims to reveal the immeasurable suffering of billions of helpless sentient creatures; an event never seen before on this planet in known history. Now this is the best way to show the sad truth to any non-vegan, especially young people, you might meet.
