Hadn't pained a model in about a year so this was fun. The oil wash I tried went pretty sideways on me, so she's not as spruce as I was hoping for, but definitely looks better than this crappy cellphone pic is leading onto.

Fun project to turn a couple fish tins into a boat. I think I'll probably have another go at it before too long. We're also gonna build some scenery for the game at some point soon too I think.

This was a commissioned piece I did a couple of years ago of the former Oak Bay Theatre in Victoria, BC. No set scale, just based on photos I could find. Fully wired with LED & fibre optic system. It was a gift for the family of the original owner. All elements are hand crafted.

Finished my bookshop model. Much as I didn't really want to glue the books in place, once I got the assembling the different elements I realised there was no way I could add them in loose afterwards. #books #modelmaking

When I first saw the brand #DSPIAE I thought it was another of those goofily named brands created to foist cheap garbage through online marketplaces.

Now I'm thinking that somewhere in Shanghai there's an executive at an electronics company who is REALLY into #modelmaking and decided to use the money and clout they had accrued to start making their dream toolkit.

They feel like a company that make video cards rather than hobby knives.

Thinking of making some resin D&D dice with my son for our game his brother is going to DM. Doesn't look too difficult or seem to cost too much.

Has anyone got any experience with this? Any recommendations?

Came into the building for some food, and they have these cool original models of the tunnel concept and also another one showing the tunnel boring machine. Love stuff like this.

#Tonk Mk. V ...had fun figuring out how to get this one to "stand up" like that, so as to reveal it's underbelly/track. Anyway, yet another pile of fun scrap plastic, wire, card and glue.

I haven't done any modelling for some years - I'm always too busy with other things - but I'm quite tempted to build this new release. Scalescenes kits are excellent, download and print at home style kits. They take a bit of work but are very satisfying.

Our #startrek #rpg ship, the USS Midthunder, recently upgraded to Constitution Class after a catastrophic mishap. Modelled as a "what if the SNW Enterprise had a TOS paint job"as a #modelmaking experiment. Decals a mix of kit and DIY inkjet.

Other than a couple of minor paint touch-ups, I think the Commlock is done! Putting on the decals was very nerve-wracking considering I hadn't done it before, and I don't think I put them on very straight either (or securely, the 8 came off on my finger later!) but if I just leave it on a shelf and don't touch it then it should be ok :P. #space1999 #modelmaking
