Do you suffer from "tsundoku"? Is that now become a landmark like mine? #reading #books #literaturecollector #tsundoku #toread #booklover #literature #legends #touristattraction #bucketlist #travelguides #unexplored

Looking at the numerous TBR book piles and wondering what to start next ...
fiction (includes - Remains of the Day. New Tales of the Abject. House of Leaves, James M Cain anthology etc...) or nonfiction? (includes books on Bedlam asylum, cabinets of curiosities, Haunted Screen expressionist cinema, Men in Black, black men on death-row, Storyville brothels, criminal psychology and so much more ...)
Will I live long enough to read my way through all?
There is no such thing as "too many books." And my Dad lived into his 90s, so I have time.
The Japanese call this practice tsundoku, and it may provide lasting benefits

@futurebird More than half. Y’all are getting way personal on here
#tsundoku is all I can say. I want to remind myself about the breadth and depth of my interests. Few others have ever seen my full TBR except a couple of moving crews.
I went to Mother Foucault’s Bookshop today and added a new Rius comic (plus “El Americano” by Calo, for geographical variety) to my slowly growing collection of Spanish books… but I can’t even read Spanish… I definitely have a #tsundoku problem
I understand maybe 30% of spoken Spanish, provided that the topic is easy to understand and not in a ‘difficult’ accent for me. But then again, you don’t need to be fluent to understand what is being said here.
@tazgetroete … es ist eine schöne Leidenschaft, die die Japaner #Tsundoku nennen
Dafür sammele ich heute mehr Bücher als früher.

I look at the overspill of #books from my shelves and the #ToBeRead piles and I sometimes feel overwhelmed like 'is this too many? Will I live long enough to read them all?' but keep succumbing to bargain find temptations but I am also in awe & love of the copious beautiful art and photography books and the strange compelling range of other fiction & nonfiction books I own.
#tsundoku @bookstodon
@stancarey Fun fact, there's a japanese word for "a stack of books I swear I'll read one day", #tsundoku!
@minzastro this particular one is a very short book, though! But yes about a mile-long reading list - and too many already bought books I want to read #tsundoku
About to go to the local library's book sale.
Thoughts and prayers appreciated.
