The #NationalScienceFoundation went beyond the staff cuts demanded by the Trump administration.
#NSF fired about 10 percent of its staff at the end of Tuesday, removing 168 people who included most of the agency’s probationary employees and all of its experts, a class of contract workers who are specialists in niche scientific fields.

For decades we’ve been fighting to close the “health gap”… Which is a term given to the differences in healthcare a marginalized person receives compared to a cishet white male.

@Infoseepage @SpockResists I heard this distrust directly from representatives of several other countries in Asia circa 2010 when I was assisting the #NationalScienceFoundation in setting up bilateral scientific research programs in #AI, #robotics and #brain science. It was a concern at that time, but not a showstopper. Long ago, I concluded that Republicans in Congress simply do not care about their personal or party reputation outside their bubble.
