Have you got half a #banknote from #Finland? It might have been cut up at the government's instruction! More in this week's E-Sylum newsletter: https://www.coinbooks.org/v27/club_nbs_esylum_v27n46.html#article21
@SuperDicq @iro_miya I mean the entire DN already uses it...
I think it's only a matter of time till some "Bank" will issue #Monero-backed banknotes...
Or rather #PaperWallets in the design of a #banknote...
Thompson's Coins of Melbourne, #Australia regularly post interesting YouTube videos. They just posted one on a fascinating Australian #banknote I'd never heard of before - an early polymer test banknote from the 1970s! Yes, that early! Australia did issue the world's first circulation polymer banknote - but not until 1988, so this is an amazing piece of history. Check it out here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oh4_dTzIhtk

Happy New #Banknote day to our friends in the United Kingdom! From the Bank of England: "Banknotes featuring a portrait of King Charles III were first issued on 5 June 2024. The portrait of the King appears on existing designs of all four banknotes (£5, £10, £20, and £50), with no other changes to the existing designs."

Re the boost of @joshrgreenberg just now, he forgot image description but the note is black print on cream, which also depicts women working at looms: https://auctions.stacksbowers.com/lots/view/1-1P80F/holliston-massachusetts-holliston-bank-october-18-1854-3-uncirculated-proof
I wasn't familiar with the caning incident, Sumner was an abolitionist senator who was beaten by a pro slavery opponent. More here:

@CitizenWald First & most importantly, #SaturdayNightCoinShow is "owned" by whoever posts to it, so there are no hard & fast rules. Yes it says "coin" in there, but I haven't seen another banknote specific hashtag - aside from #Banknote itself which doesn't exactly specify a "time" like the other one (or #MedalMonday or #TokenTuesday etc). I originally brought the idea from Twitter where it was popular. @joshrgreenberg is the main one I know who posts banknotes so I'd be happy for your input?
I started creating a resource, which lists tactile marks on currencies. This is a work in progress, I will add to it as information becomes available.

Following my post on today being Wattle day for the 1st of September / first day of Spring - Thanks to @jhaue for reminding me of the wattle on the Australian $5 note. Here is one from: https://banknotes.rba.gov.au/australias-banknotes/banknotes-in-circulation/five-dollar/
Also for wattle fans, wattle is featured on the W coin from the Great Australian Coin Hunt 3: Photo from: https://www.ramint.gov.au/great-aussie-coin-hunt-3-0
Has anyone yet had a banknote with King Charles's head on it?
Prompted by @joshrgreenberg's #banknote post today mentioning some random website, here is a 10 ("X") Centavos from #Portugul, issued in 1943. This coin was minted from 1942 - 1969; the X is the Roman numeral for 10.
And for those interested, here is Joshua's post (He posts lots of interesting banknotes, you should follow him): https://historians.social/@joshrgreenberg/110770402981444347
